Provenance-backed works from a lifetime of scholarship.

Limited availability from the Gross family estate, summer 2025. This collection was assembled by Murray Jay Gross — a Manhattan-based scholar and collector whose focus spanned legal history, modernist literature, and the teaching and literary culture surrounding the Dead Poets Society. The surviving material spans law and legal history, modernist literature by James Joyce and Marcel Proust, and poetry, criticism, and ephemera from his longtime involvement in New York literary circles. Each lot is described with condition notes and whatever ownership or acquisition history is available.
